From a Music Together Grandmother:
Carol, if it weren't for you, music would not be such a natural expression to my child because I'm not musical. He's learning to use the potty and wash his hands and the other day he just started to sing his own song about This is the way we wash our hands, wash our hands! It sounds like something I remember hearing about washing clothes. I haven't sung it to him. Now we sing together and it adds to the joy of success and it helps keep the washing time and drying time better. He sings to the stars when we walk at twilight! He sings the rhythm songs spontaneously! Whether there is any talent to emerge or not, it is a wonderful expression of joy and self confidence and another way to communicate.He even names some instruments he hears when I put a classics station on the radio. He knows violins and piano. Of course we have a piano that he plays and I must find time to get back to. Recognizing the violins surprised me. Of course he knows drums.We usually drive with one of the Music Together CDs on and he goes to sleep with one of them on.

Carol, I just wanted to tell you that Terri is absolutely unbelievable as our music teacher. She connects so well with my daughter and all the other children as well. She truly teaches music from her heart and it shows on the faces of the children. The class is wonderful and makes me appreciate the art of music especially when I hear my daughter singing the songs learned it class during bedtime, in the car or even during bathtime. This class has opened her up in many ways and the expression of music will be a life long reward to her.

"I have paid for classes at other places and I can certainly say that this is one of my favorite programs. It is clearly different in a sea of the "same". The first class is a shock because it's so different and participatory (shyness isn't a good thing here) but now we LOVE it and are loyal fans."

My son and I have been taking Music Together classes for about a year. He went from being a silent observer to an active participant, and he has such an appreciation for music now. We play the CDs provided at home and in the car, and he sings along with movements learned in class. I have seen such a growth in the last year because of this wonderful program and would strongly encourage anyone to give it a try. We're sure you'll fall in love with it, just like we have.

Carol, I just wanted to let you know how much my daughter is enjoying Terri’s class. She is absolutely beside herself with joy at the prospect of going each week, and she squeals with delight as soon as we pull into the studio parking lot! She also listens to the Music Together CD obsessively, and I can’t wait to sign her up for the next term. Terry can take credit for how successful the class has been. She is so gifted, not just musically, but in the way she handles the kids and puts them at ease. We are very fortunate to have her as a teacher. She does a really great job. Thank you so much!
